Pune: Elderly Dies After Being Beaten Over Land Dispute in Khed Taluka

Pune: A shocking incident of crime has came light were a elderly farmer died during treatment after being beaten over a dispute over farmland in Dhore Bhamburwadi. This incident occurred on the March 3, 2026 , deceased framer identified as Sopan Tukaram Bhambure and a case has been registered against five people at Khed Police Station in this regard. According to the information given by the sports police, wheat threshing work was going on in the field of deceased Sopan Bhambure in Dhore Bhamburwadi. His son Ramdas Bhambure had taken the grain home from the field.

At approximately 3:45 pm, Shivaji Pandurang Bhambure, Kiran Shivaji Bhambure, Asha Subhash Bhambure, Sonali Kiran Bhambure, and Aruna Shivaji Bhambure (residents of Dhore Bhamburwadi, Tal. Khed) verbally abused Sopan Bhambure and his wife, Chandrakala Bhambure, and physically assaulted them, stating the victims were not welcome on the property.

When Sopan Bhambure fell, the group kicked him in the chest. Sopan Bhambure lost consciousness during the altercation and died while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Rajgurunagar. Police are investigating the incident.
