Pune: Three Workers Die of Suspected Toxic Gas Exposure Inside Drainage Tank
Three workers died on Sunday, April 26, after allegedly inhaling toxic gas inside a drainage tank at a mushroom farming unit in Purandar. The incident took place in Belsar village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Jejuri police station in Pune district of Maharashtra, according to the new agency PTI.
The deceased have been identified as Pintu Rajesh Prasad (23), Vyas Soham Kumar (22), and Gautam Ramsuran Kushwaha (36), all from Deoria district in Uttar Pradesh.

According to preliminary information, the workers had entered the drainage tank when they were exposed to suspected toxic fumes. All three collapsed inside the tank and could not be rescued in time.

According to police, a worker entered the tank at 4:30 PM to clear a wastewater line and failed to emerge. When he failed to come out, two more workers entered the chamber one after another.
Local authorities were alerted and reached the spot soon after the incident. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
