Due to the Pune Grand Tour Stage 4 Cycling Race scheduled for tomorrow, January 23, 2026 (Friday), along a 58-kilometre route through the city, the Pune Police have implemented major traffic diversions. In view of the event, all schools within the Pune Municipal Corporation limits will remain closed. This information was shared during a press conference by Joint Commissioner of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma and Additional Commissioner of Police Manoj Patil.

The race will begin from the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and will conclude at Balgandharva Rangmandir within the Pune Police Commissionerate limits. Although the race distance is 95 km, traffic changes have been made to ensure its smooth conduct. Citizens have been requested not to park any vehicles along the race route. Those coming to watch the race are advised to stand behind the barricades and stop lines placed along the roadside and enjoy the event, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Himmat Jadhav.

Considering the inconvenience that may be caused to school students due to the race, the District Collector has decided to keep all government and private schools within the Pune Municipal Corporation limits closed. For the event, an extensive police deployment has been arranged, including 12 Deputy Commissioners of Police, 19 Assistant Commissioners of Police, 78 Police Inspectors, 243 Assistant Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors, along with 4,381 police personnel.
