A video that has gone viral on social media has prompted a police probe in Khurja town of Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district after a young man and woman were allegedly seen in an objectionable situation inside a parked vehicle in the Mohalla New Shivpuri locality. According to information reported by LatestLY News, the incident occurred on Friday when residents noticed a red Mahindra TUV parked in a narrow lane with its windows covered from the inside, raising suspicion among locals. As rumours spread in the neighbourhood regarding the activities inside the car, several residents gathered around the vehicle and began knocking on its doors, asking the occupants to step outside and explain their presence there.
As per details reported by LatestLY News, the situation soon turned chaotic when the man inside the vehicle allegedly attempted to flee instead of responding to the crowd. Witnesses claimed that he suddenly accelerated the car forward in an effort to escape, almost hitting the people standing nearby. The driver then reportedly reversed the vehicle at high speed before speeding away from the area along with the woman. During the confusion, one local resident allegedly hurled a stone at the car in an attempt to stop it, but the couple managed to flee successfully. Residents present at the spot narrowly escaped being injured during the dramatic escape from the locality.
The entire episode was reportedly captured on mobile phones by bystanders, and the video spread rapidly across social media platforms on Saturday, drawing widespread attention online. Following the circulation of the footage, police authorities initiated an inquiry into the matter, according to LatestLY News. Kotwali in-charge Ramfal Singh stated that preliminary verification had already been conducted and officials found that the vehicle involved in the incident is registered in the name of a resident from Delhi. He further clarified that no formal written complaint has been submitted so far regarding the matter. Police officials are now tracing the individuals seen in the vehicle and said further action would follow after a detailed investigation is completed.
