Google Celebrates Start of ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 With Animated Doodle
The search engine giant Google, who controls lead the internet in terms of solving user queries, has now come up with its new doodle, informing netizens about the beginning of the prestigious tournament ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to start from today (February 7), in Sri Lanka and India.
The opening match of the T20 World Cup 2026 will be played between Pakistan and the Netherlands at 11 am (IST) in Colombo, followed by West Indies vs Scotland at 3 pm and India vs USA later today at 7 pm. This will be the 10th edition of the white-ball cricket tournament co-hosted by two Asian countries.
The animated Google doodle design for the start of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup has a shiny pinkish colour with animation that shows blinking the letters 'G' and 'E'. The doodle features a green colour bat replacing the letter 'L' and the ball is replacing the word 'O', which gives a 3D animation. While 'E' looks like carrying a drum, which is seen in the hands of Sri Lankan fans.
While the doodle featured on the home page of Google is clickable and shows a full schedule of 55 matches for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, with a table section featuring four groups divided into A, B, C and D. This is seen as a digital tribute from the search engine giant to the nations playing in the cricket tournament.
This year, the edition is featuring 20 nations competing across eight iconic venues. The final of the T20 World Cup will be played at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8.
T20 World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony for the T20 World Cup will be held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Famous Punjabi and Bollywood singer Badshah and actress Nora Fatehi.
