Ghodbunder Road Traffic Update: Thane Police Announce Vehicular Diversions From May 8 to 10 Due to Girder Work at Brahmand Junction

Vehicular traffic diversion announced on the busiest Ghodbunder Road in Thane district from May 8 to 10 due to girder installation work on the pedestrian bridge at Brahmand Junction. Thane Traffic Police have appealed to motorists to use alternative routes to avoid congestion and delay.

According to the Thane Traffic Police advisory, girder erection work on the pedestrian bridge near Mullabagh Bus Depot at Brahmand Junction will be carried out by RPS PRS Joint Venture Pvt. Ltd. Due to the work, traffic routes on Ghodbunder Road have been diverted to avoid vehicular congestion.

As per the notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Department, under the Thane Police Commissionerate, the traffic changes will remain in effect within the Kasarvadavali Traffic Sub-Division limits.

The work will begin from 11:55 pm on Friday, May 8 and continue till Saturday, 11:55 pm on May 9. Further work will continue from 11:55 pm on May 9 till 6 am on May 10.

To avoid congestion and ensure smooth movement of traffic, restrictions have been imposed on several routes. Heavy vehicles have been advised to avoid travelling on the affected stretch during the period.

However, the restrictions will not apply to police vehicles, fire brigade vehicles, ambulances, green corridor vehicles, oxygen gas vehicles and other essential service vehicles.

All types of vehicles will be prohibited on the stretch from Brahmand Signal on Ghodbunder Road towards Kapurbawdi via Manpada-Brahmand Signal. Vehicles travelling from the MG Motors showroom area towards Manpada Bridge will also not be allowed to use the bridge approach road.

Alternative Routes

The traffic police have advised vehicles travelling towards Kapurbawdi to take a left turn from Brahmand Signal and proceed via Brahmand Circle, Azadnagar Road, the junction opposite Lodha Amara, and Kolshet-Dhokali Road.

Vehicles coming from Ghodbunder Road have been advised to take a left turn near Nagori Tea Stall using the slip road near Manpada Bridge and proceed via Tikujini Wadi Circle and the road opposite Vihang/Variant Nilkanth Green near Mullabagh.
