Kalyan: RPF Officer Saves Woman After She Falls While Alighting from Moving Train
A major tragedy was narrowly averted at Kalyan Railway Station when a 20-year-old woman and her toddler son nearly slipped into the gap between a moving train and the platform, in a heart-stopping incident that could have turned fatal within seconds. ASI Hemant Bargude is being widely praised after CCTV footage captured his dramatic rescue of a woman at the station.
The incident occurred Tuesday evening on platform 5 as the Prayagraj-Mumbai special train was arriving. Antima Shukla, traveling with her one-year-old son, lost her balance while attempting to disembark the moving train and fell onto the platform, nearly being dragged into the gap.
While on platform duty, Bargude spotted a woman falling and, in a split second, pulled her and her child away from the gap, preventing a potential tragedy. Other passengers and bystanders rushed to assist. The woman escaped with minor bruises.
Earlier, a 12-year-old girl narrowly escaped the tragedy, after a constable saved her from being trapped between a moving train. This incident is from Gangapur City station in Sawai Madhopur. CCTV footage of this tragic accident has been going viral on social media.
