Harsh Nandlal Gupta, a 24-year-old MBBS student at Patil College, committed suicide by jumping into a quarry near the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Thane. A case of sudden death has been registered at the Chitalsar police station.

On August 7, at around 10:45 am, the Disaster Management Department of the Thane Municipal Corporation found the body of a young man in a quarry near Patel Kari within the Sanjay Gandhi National Park premises.

Officials from the Chitalsar police and the forest department immediately began efforts to identify the deceased. During the investigation, the young man was identified as Harsh Gupta. It was discovered that he was studying medicine in Pune and had returned home due to stress. The police have stated that the investigation into this case is ongoing.
