Thane: A fire broke out at a residential apartment in the Vrindavan society area of Thane west early Thursday, April 30 morning. A swift response by the Fire Brigade and Disaster Management Cell quickly extinguished a fire in a second-floor AC unit of Building No. 20/A in Thane, preventing casualties and significant property damage.

The incident, reported at approximately 6:40 am on April 30, 2026, originated in Room No. 22, owned by Mrs. Sita Shripad, of the four-story building. Emergency teams, including a fire rescue vehicle and an RDMC pickup vehicle dispatched from Jawahar Bagh Fire Station, promptly arrived on the scene.

A civic official stated that firefighters quickly extinguished a fire confined to the AC unit, with no reported injuries. Preliminary observations suggest a short circuit may have caused the fire, and authorities advise residents to maintain electronic appliances as temperatures rise while the exact cause remains under investigation.
