The discovery of an unidentified deceased man, estimated to be aged between 40 to 45 years, in the Retibundar creek near the Atma Ram immersion ghat in Mumbra, Thane district, has prompted an investigation by local authorities. The alert was raised around 7:50 am after Mumbra Police personnel, Mr. Shankar Vaykar, informed the Disaster Management Cell. Subsequently, officials and staff from the Mumbra Police Station, along with a hearse van, personnel from the Disaster Management Cell with a pickup truck, local fishermen with a boat, and fire brigade officials with a rescue vehicle, swiftly responded to the scene.

In a coordinated effort, the Disaster Management staff, local fishermen, and fire brigade personnel worked together to retrieve the deceased's body from the creek waters. Once recovered, the body was handed over to the Mumbra Police authorities present at the location. Following the recovery operation, the unidentified victim's body was transported to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa for further legal procedures under the supervision of Mumbra Police personnel.

The Mumbra Police have launched an investigation into the incident to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate event. Additional details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
