Brussels [Belgium], July 11 : North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Tuesday announced that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has agreed to forward Sweden NATO bid to the Grand National Assembly and ensure ratification.Stoltenberg tweeted, "Glad to announce that after the meeting I hosted with @RTErdogan & @SwedishPM, President Erdogan has agreed to forward #Sweden's accession protocol to the Grand National Assembly ASAP & ensure ratification. He further said Sweden has already met the conditions to join NATO.Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Monday that Sweden's NATO accession is "imaginable in the near future. He made the remarks during a joint news conference with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Berlin.
