Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Wednesday marked the second day of the state-wide strike called by government and semi-government employees since Tuesday, April 21, over various pending demands. All eight districts of Marathwada were affected by the strike.

Out of 7,066 employees, only 1,031 managed the administration across all eight districts of the division, while 5,689 revenue department employees participated in the strike.

Employees have resorted to the strike tool to press demands, including service-related issues affecting teaching and non-teaching staff, the filling of vacant posts, and reforms to the National Pension Scheme.

The strike affected work in all government offices, including the revenue department. All affiliated organisations participated in the strike called by the State Government Central Organisation. Talathis, working in approximately 450 circles across the division, joined the strike, leaving the pending work of residents from around 9,000 villages unattended.
