Aurangabad, March 6:

The increase of oxygen has increased in the city due to the increasing number of Corona patients. Earlier, around 8 tons of oxygen was needed a few days back, and the demand is rising to 15 tons daily now.

The severity of Corona decreased from October onwards, and the number of severe patients also decreased. Hence, the need for oxygen for the patients reduced. However, the patients, including the severe patients, started increasing from February again. As a result, the need for oxygen also increased from around 8 tons to 15 tons daily.

The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) dean, Dr Kanan Yelikar, said oxygen is supplied to the city from Aurangabad, Chakan, Pune, Raigadh, and Thane.

The Food and Drug Administration joint commissioner, Sanjay Kale, informed that, although the number of patients increases, there is an ample amount of oxygen. The daily demand for oxygen has increased from 8 tons to 15 tons daily, he said.
