Aurangabad, June 2:

The City Chowk police have arrested two motorcycle thieves recently. It has unveiled that they have stolen in all 34 motorcycles from various parts of the city and sold them in Sillod and Bhokardan tehsils. The court sent both of them to the Harsul prison.

The thieves, Gauskha Kalekha Pathan 935, Nanegaon) and Nawabkha Usmankha Pathan (40, Godi, Bhokardan) were arrested last week. They used to steal the motorcycles from various parts of the city and sold them in Sillod and Bhokardan tehsils. The motorcycles thefts reduced since their arrest in the city. They used to sell these motorcycles to poor farmers and labourers. During investigation, they told the names of their two more accomplices. The police earlier seized 22 motorcycles sold to farmers, then five and now 7. In all, 34 motorcycles have been seized, informed PI Sambhaji Pawar. The accused were presented before the court and the court remanded them in the judicial custody and sent to Harsul prison. Under the guidance of PI Pawar, PSI Kashinath Mahadule, contable Rohidas Khairnar, Sanjay Nand, Sandeep Tayade, Shaikh Gaffar, Abdul Rehman, Deshraj More, Santosh Sankpal and Abhijeet Gaikwad executed the police action.

The accused have changed the registration numbers of several motorcycles and also damaged the chassis numbers. It is now a challenge for the police to identify the owners of the seized motorcycles. So far, 20 motorcycles stolen from the City Chowk police station jurisdiction and 6 from Begumpura police station have been identified.
