22 stolen motorcycles seized
Aurangabad, May 27:
The City Chowk police arrested a thief
red-handed while stealing a motorcycle by keeping a watch at the Jama Masjid
and Bhaji Mandai area in Shahgunj for almost 23 days. During interrogation, the
accused confessed that he has stolen 22 motorcycles and were kept with his
friend for selling. The police then arrested his friend from Sillod and seized
all the 22 motorcycles.
The motorcycle thefts were on the rise in the
city. In this backdrop, DCP Nikesh Khatmode studied the pattern, time and
places of thefts. Later, police were deployed in civil dress at Shahgunj Bhaji
Mandi and Jama Masjid area for almost 23 days. The police caught a thief red
handed while staling a motorcycle at Shahgunj Bhaji Mandi area. The police thoroughly
investigated and he told his name as Gauskha Kale Khan Pathan 9Brijwadi, native
of Nanegaon, Sillod). He told that he used to steal the motorcycles and gave it
to his accomplice Nawab Khan Osman Khan Pathan (30, Godi, Bhokardan), who used
to later sell these motorcycles.
They used to change the number plate, seat
cover of the motorcycle and used to sell to the customers stating that the
motorcycles were seized by the finance company for not paying the loan amount. The
police arrested Nawab Khan and seized 22 motorcycles sold at Sillod and
Bhokardan area.
The action was executed by PI Sambhaji Pawar,
PSI K D Mahadule, Sanjay Nand, Majid Patel, Deshraj More, Santosh Shankpal and
others.
