Aurangabad, July 15:

The city police arrested three persons going from Uttar Pradesh to Shirdi via Shirdi and breaking an ATM machine, and stealing Rs 13,000 at Mhada Colony on Wednesday. The accused Rohitsingh Vijay Bahadursingh (29, Charpura, Lalganj, Pratapgadh, Sanjaykumar Shankarlal Pal (21, Manoharpur, Saurav, Prayagraj, and Ankush Badhelal Maurya (21, Harvipura, Sanja, Uttar Pradesh) have been remanded in the police custody till July 17. The other two accused, however, managed to flee away.

The gang used to insert a rod in the machine and took the money from it. On Wednesday morning, the gang stole Rs 13,000 from the ATM at Mhada Colony. However, due to the alertness of the police and electronic payment services company, the accused were nabbed after a chase. A case against them has been registered at the Cidco MIDC police station. Today, they were produced before the court under the guidance of PI Vitthal Pote and were remanded in police custody till July 17.

During interrogation, they said that they were going to Shirdi from Uttar Pradesh. They arrived in the city on Wednesday at around 11.30 am. They went to an SBI ATM centre at Mhada Colony. Two of them entered the centre, two were standing out, and one of them was sitting on the driver’s seat. They put something in the cash shutter in the ATM and took Rs 13,000 from it. They were planning to remove some more money from the machine. However, the Mumbai-based Electronic Payment Company got alerted and immediately informed the bank officers and Mukundwadi police. The police reached the crime spot and nabbed three accused after a chase, but the other two managed to flee away.
