45 suites of Subhedari Guest House in darkness

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Mahavitaran discontinued the electricity supply to the Subhedari Guest House (SGH) in the city on Tuesday morning due to an electricity bill arrears of Rs 6.50 lakh.

Because of this, 45 suites of the guest house were plunged into darkness. The electricity bill of SGH which is under the control of Public Works Department (PWD) has not been paid for the past many days.

Despite repeated appeals from Mahavitaran, the bill was not cleared. So, it discontinued the power supply. This resulted in the embarrassment of the PWD.

The power supply was not restored till late evening. Mahavitaran has taken a stand not to reconnect the power supply until the full bill is paid. Sources in the PWD said that the electricity supply to 45 suites was discontinued.

Meanwhile, there are four power supply connections in the SGH. Out of them, 3 power connections were disconnected. However, the power supply to the main building and VIP suite is normal.
