50,369 candidates declared qualified in Maha TET

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The result of the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (Maha TET) conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) was declared on Tuesday night.

A total of 50,369 candidates were declared qualified in the examination. The MSCE conducted the TET across the State on November 23.

A total of 4,75,669 candidates had registered for this test while 4,46,730 candidates actually appeared for it. Of them, 11.28 per cent (50,369) candidates declared qualified. This year's result shows a significant increase of seven to eight per cent. The interim answer keys were released on December 19 while the final answer keys were displayed on January 12.

--Out of the total 1,90,902 candidates who appeared for Paper I, 21,892 candidates declared qualified.

--A total of 2,55,829 candidates took Paper II, while 28,477 of them declared successful.

--The highest result until now was 5.13 per cent in 2018, and before that, 5.02 per cent in 2013.

--The average pass rate in TET so far has been 3.5 per cent.

--Against this backdrop, this year's examination result is 11.28 per cent. Therefore, a substantial increase in the TET results is evident.

4 questions cancelled

The interim results were published on January 16. Candidates submitted objections about the interim results. The objections were recorded concerning question numbers 147 in set A, 149 in set B, 137 in set C, and 132 in set D of the Environmental Studies subject in Paper-I. The examination council stated that these questions were subsequently cancelled based on the opinion of experts.
