A meeting of the administrative officers and the people’s representatives were held to discuss the preparations for the third possible wave of Corona at district collectorate on Monday.

Additional district collector Dr Anant Gavhane, MLA Haribhau Bagade, MLA Atul Save, MLC Ambadas Danve, Ramesh Bornare, Udaysing Rajput, commissioner of police Dr Nikhil Gupta, municipal commissioner Astik Kumar Pandey, ZP CEO Dr Mangesh Gondavale, superintendent of police Mokshada Patil, district civil surgeon Dr S V Kulkarni, GMCH dean Dr Kanan Yelikar, AMC medical officer Dr Neeta Padalkar and others were present.

The concerned officers told that the required injections and medicines for the treatment of the patients of Mucormycosis have been demanded to the government and the received stock is being distributed to the hospitals. Considering the possible third Corona wave, all the treatment facilities are being provided while a child treatment centre is being established at the Garware Company area, Dr Gavhane said.

AMC commissioner Pandey said that the number of patients in the city is coming under control. On the backdrop of the possible third wave, all precautions are being taken. Meetings with the pediatricians are being held and planning for the treatment is being done. AMC will establish a Covid Care Centre for children, he said.

Meanwhile, the delegations of the traders and petrol pump owners met Dr Gavhane and demanded that the actions taken against the traders during the lockdown should be taken back. Dr Gavhane told that they had been directed to meet the municipal administration in this regard and he also appealed the traders to follow the rules.

MLA Save suggested that the facilities with 50 beds should be made mandatory to have their own oxygen manufacturing unit. Bagade demanded that medicines should be provided for the treatment of Mucormycosis and vaccination centres should be kept open. Danve demanded that strict action should be taken for breaching the rules. Police should be deployed at the marriage functions, he suggested.
