Aurangabad, April 14:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has received a share of Rs 2 crore from the state government to fight against the Covid-19 situation in the city. The government had attracted the fund from various companies under the CSR. Meanwhile, the AMC has decided to utilise the fund by purchasing 15 mini ambulances, refrigerators (of 200-litre capacity), de-refrigerators and other equipment said the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar.

It may be noted that the AMC administrator A K Pandey had requested the state government to provide financial assistance from the CSR fund. The small ambulances (Van type) will be bought so that they could easily move in any narrow lanes and bylanes of the city, she said.

The AMC has also received fund (of Rs 1.59 crore) under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) to AMC to undertake adequate measures and give quality treatment to Covid-19 patients. The fund will be utilised for testing kits, release payment of health employees, allowances, improvement of laboratory, increase in manpower etc, said Dr Padalkar.
