AMC hoping state to approve Service Recruitment Rules soon

Aurangabad, May 25:

If the sources are to be believed the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is hopeful that the state government will be giving its final approval to Service Recruitment Rules, soon.

The AMC had not witnessed recruitment for the past many decades. As a result, the backlog of vacant posts is increasing each day. The state government had approved the AMC's new staffing pattern during the last year, but the service recruitment rules were not okayed. The AMC was pursuing to seek approval. Meanwhile, it is hoped that the state will okay it in a week or 10 days. Later on, the AMC could undertake a mega recruitment drive.

It is being overheard that the AMC would be filling up 800 to 1,000 posts in the first phase. The AMC has completed all the paperwork to fill up the posts of various groups and categories. It may be noted that the government has the right to fix the criteria of educational qualifications for the different posts. Two days ago, the AMC officials were pursuing the proposal.

34 absorbed on compassionate grounds

The AMC selection committee today has absorbed 34 personnel as sanitary labourers. It may be noted that there were 70 AMC persons on establishment who had either died, retired, or had taken voluntary retirement. Hence the AMC as per the Laad-Page Committee recommendations decided to absorb their wards in the service (on the compassionate ground). Of all 34 candidates have completed the documents procedure while 36 persons are yet to complete it. Their appointments are getting delayed as they had not submitted their succession certificates and affidavits.

The selection committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of the AMC administrator A K Pandey recently. The members including additional commissioner B B Nemane, legal advisor Aparna Thete, chief auditor D K Dahale and establishment officer Vikram Darade were in the meeting. It was decided to absorb 70 personnel as per Laad-Page recommendations. Accordingly, the appointment orders are issued after scrutinising the documents.
