AMC removes 60 illegal billboards, posters from city

Aurangabad, Jan 6:

The anti-encroachment squad of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has removed as many as 60 big or small billboards, banners, posters etc. installed illegally in various circles of the city, today. The size of seized material varies from 2x3 feet to 10x10 feet.

The drive started in the morning. The squad officials visited Delhi Gate, Harsul T Point, Ambedkar Chowk, Jalgaon Road, Cidco Bus Stand, Mukundwadi, Ramnagar Chowk etc. and removed the boards and displays either extending birthday greetings by individuals, organisations or political parties.

The squad also visited Vasantrao Naik Chowk, Seven Hills Chowk, Akashwani Square, Amarpreet Signal, Kranti Chowk, Osmanpura to Railway Station route, Baba Petrol Pump, Central Bus Stand, Jubilee Park and Bhadkal Gate to remove the advertisement banners, billboards and birthday greetings. A total of 60 big or small billboards, displays or banners have been removed on Thursday, stated the press release. The AMC would also be lodging complaints against the individuals, organisations and societies displaying these publicity materials illegally, in various police stations.

Under the guidance of the additional commissioner R P Nikam, the designated officer Savita Sonawane, R S Rachatwar, building inspectors Syed Jamsheed, Mazhar Ali, P B Gaoli, Ravindra Desai, Sagar Shresth and others took action.
