AMC to start operation of oxygen plant at Meltron Centre from next week

Aurangabad, July 15:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator A K Pandey has inspected the functioning of the oxygen plant at Meltron Covid Care Centre today. The plant is being started with the help of the state government. Pandey witnessed the manufacturing of oxygen from the plant and its transportation to the beds of patients. The municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar said that the AMC continue conducting the ongoing testing for one more week and then take over the possession of the plant.

The main feature of the plant is that it produces 250 litres of oxygen in a minute. A total of 45 jumbo cylinders will be filled up every day. There are 300 beds in Meltron Centre. The oxygen will be provided through a pipeline to each bed. Presently, the AMC had laid down the pipeline till the 150 beds and very soon, the remaining 150 beds will also be connected through the pipeline.

Presently, there are fewer patients undergoing treatment at the centre. The oxygen produced at the plant will be first supplied to the patients and then it will be filled up in the jumbo cylinders, said Dr Padalkar.
