Aurangabad, Dec 25:

To improve efficiency, transparency and accountability in the functioning of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) and enhance the quality of services offered to citizens, the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) has invited tenders from competent and experienced agencies to implement and execute E-Governance System and Geographic Information System (GIS) in the city, today. The projects will help transform AMC into a citizens-friendly organisation, it is hoped.

As reported earlier, the AMC administrator A K Pandey worked on these projects for their implementations for a long time. These systems will increase the AMC revenue and help civic officials make necessary changes (correct the wrong information uploaded in the past) regarding properties, levy correct property tax and recover it accordingly.

Under the E-Governance system, the services will be improved and expanded, apart from reducing AMC''s burden. ASCDCL invite''s a competent agency with five years of experience of operating a cloud-based data centre and imparting services through E-Governance system. It will be easy for AMC to maintain official records of works, establishment section, issue property tax or water tax bills, grant licenses, permissions or issue birth and death certificates etc. to the citizens through this system.

The competent agency will have to survey properties under the Geographic Information System (GIS). The system is designed to capture, store, analyse, manage, and present all geographical data types, including real-time maps. GIS survey will be linked with e-Governance System. Hence the two services will help AMC impart quality services to the citizens and enhance its revenue collection.
