Aurangabad, June 22:

Thousands of aspirants of common entrance test to be conducted for various undergraduate, postgraduate professional courses are worried over the delay in the admissions process.

It may be noted that the State Common Entrance Test Cell (SCETC) conducts entrance test for the admissions to UG courses in Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Fine Art and Applied Art, Law, Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Education, Physical Education and PG courses- MBA, MMS, MCA, M Arch, M HMCT, M Ed, M P Ed are conducted between March and June. The admission process is completed by August.

The Cell started registration for MHT-CET 21 to be held for admissions B Tech, B E (Engineering, Technology and Agriculture) and B Pharmacy. The registration process for other courses CET was not commenced yet. Thousands of PG and UG course aspirants are worried about the delayed registration process.

An aspiring youth said that the registration should have begun as the restrictions were lifted on many districts of the state from June 7.

Sachin Jagtap, one of the aspirants of the management course, said that the admission process was delayed last year because of Covid-19 spread. “The Government did not know first wave Covid impact at that time. Complete restrictions were not lifted in the first wave. The second wave was declining in many parts of the State and complete restrictions were lifted in many districts. The CET Cell should have commenced registrations for other courses CET. This will help candidates for good preparations,” he added.

Shaikh Sumair, who wants to take the Law course test, feels that the registration process had not started even though the June month ends next week. “Many universities have declared the result of UG and PG courses. If the registration process is delayed, it will delay admissions rounds, classes, and examinations. Therefore, the registration should commence,” he asserted.

Officers of the SCETC said they are assessing the situation to start registering for the remaining courses to avoid frequent extensions, unlike last year.
