Aurangabad (India) - Ingolstadt (Germany) to sign Sister City partnership soon

Aurangabad, Sept 30:

If all goes well, the trade and tourism, apart from educational and cultural exchange, is likely to witness a boost as the administration of the City of Ingolstadt (Germany) has granted in-principle approval to the proposal of Sister City partnership with the Aurangabad (Maharashtra-India), recently.

Ingolstadt is the headquarters of Audi Car manufacturing giant. It also runs a unit in Aurangabad since 2007. With an aim to strengthen the bond of the above two cities, the Consulate General of India (CGI), Munich, tabled the proposal and were pursuing it for the past six months, said the Consul (Head of Commerce and Education), CGI-Munich, Dr Suyash Chavan (an IFS) adding that the stakeholders and representatives of both the cities were convinced through highlighting cultural, tourism, industrial, the educational potential of both the countries to each other.

Chavan, who was pursuing the proposal on behalf of the CGI- Munich, underlined that the Sister Cities - Aurangabad (India) will soon connect to Ingolstadt (Germany) in the next few months after completing the official formalities and signing the pact. The development will indeed make Aurangabad truly Global.

The Consul thanked the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator Astik Kumar Pandey and Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL) team for extending their valuable support in materialising the project.

An IFS, Dr Chavan hails from Nanded and has completed his medical education from Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Aurangabad.
