Unidentified thieves stole a bag containing Rs 8 lakh in cash from a private bus at Manjarsumba in Beed district of Marathwada, on Thursday evening.

According to police, a trader from Latur, Alam Walikhan Pathan, was coming to Beed by the bus (MH-24-AU-3131). The bus halted at Manjarsumba for passengers to have breakfast. Pathan got down to answer the nature’s call. When he returned, the cash bag was not on the seat.

Pathan has lodged a complaint with the Neknoor police station. The thieves have been captured on CCTV cameras of the bus. The police are investigating.
