Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Bashar Nawaz Memorial Foundation and Swar Sakshi Foundation jointly organised "Manohar Sangeet Mahotsav" in the memory of renowned Urdu poet Bashar Nawaz and prominent ghazal singer Mehdi Hasan at Govindbhai Shroff Auditorium, S B College, on Saturday.

Internationally renowned Ghazal singer Pandit Ramesh Kumar Jule (Mumbai) presented the Ghazals of Mehdi Hasan and Bashar Nawaz in the programme.

Former Leader of Opposition Ambadas Danve, Pt. Vijay Deshmukh, Pt. Ramesh Jule, Atul Dive, Preeti Dive, Yahya Khan, Dr Sandeep Sisode and Dr Sohail Zakiuddin (President- Bashar Nawaz Memorial Foundation) lit the lamp and garlanded the portrait of Bashar Nawaz to mark the inauguration.

City's first citizen, Mayor Sameer Rajurkar, was present as a special guest.

The ghazals written by Bashar Nawaz were composed and sung at the event.

Pandit Ramesh Kumar Jule, Sharafat Nawaz Khan (Mumbai), and Vaibhav Pandey showed their performance. Neeta Pansare conducted the proceedings of the programme.

Many dignitaries of the city, including Sarang Takalkar, S P Rathod, Dr Dost Mohammad Khan, Dr Rafiuddin Naser, Dr Abdul Bari, Dr Mohammad Asif, I M Farooqui-Md. Askari, Sandhya Kelkar, Dr Iqbal Minne, Salik Hasan Khan, Dr Prerna Dalvi and others were present.

The Ghazal program was indeed a wonderful representation of Ganga-Jamni Tehzeeb, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the city.
