A 37-year-old man died after allegedly suffering heatstroke and falling into a pit due to dizziness while on his way to his brother-in-law’s house in the Nandkheda Road area of Parbhani city on Friday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Shivaji Baban Kamble (37), originally from Charthana in Jintur tehsil and currently residing at Pingale Mala in Nashik.

According to the complaint filed at the Nanalpeth police station by the deceased’s brother, Mahadev Baban Kamble, Shivaji and his wife Meenakshi had come to his house for an overnight stay on April 23.

On Friday morning, Shivaji, along with his wife, daughter Vidya, and mother-in-law Kantabai, left to visit relatives.

Around 12 noon, Meenakshi called the family and said Shivaji was missing and could not be traced. Later, while searching for him, his mobile location was tracked. At around 6.30 pm, the phone was found ringing near a pit on Nandkheda Road. On checking the site, Shivaji was found lying inside the pit.

He was rushed to the government hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Blood was reportedly oozing from his nose and mouth. It is suspected that he fainted due to extreme heat, fell into the pit, and died of heatstroke after prolonged exposure. A case has been registered at Nanalpeth police station.
