Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
Devotional fervour reached its peak on Monday during the fourth day of the seven-day ‘Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram Katha’ being held at the under-construction temple premises of ISKCON VECC. Storyteller Lal Govind Das captivated thousands of devotees with his narration of divine episodes from the Balkand.
The discourse began with melodious Gaudiya bhajans, following which Lal Govind Das sang the famous chaupai, “Bhay Pragat Krupala Deendayala, Kaushalya Hitkari”, filling the entire venue with chants praising Lord Ram.
Narrating the emotionally charged episode of Lord Ram’s birth, he said that whenever righteousness declines, the compassionate Lord incarnates to protect devotees and restore dharma. The description of Lord Ram first appearing in a divine four-armed form before mother Kaushalya and later assuming the form of an infant left many devotees teary-eyed.
The organisers informed that the ‘Sita Swayamvar’ episode will be narrated on Tuesday, May 19. The discourse will begin at 4.30 pm, and special bus arrangements have been made from various parts of the city for devotees.
