Aurangabad, March 12:

The MP, Syed Imtiaz Jaleel, today revealed that a bogus racket issuing no-objection-certificate (NOC) is active with the nexus of officials of Maharashtra State Board of Wakf (MSBoW).

While addressing the press conference, the MP said, " The primely located Wakf land, situated on Jalna Road, is given to the big merchants by violating the board's norms. Our agitation in this regard is going democratically. However, we had come across a bogus 'NoC' issued against a Wakf land situated at Badlapur in Thane district. Ironically, the Wakf Board had not taken any action in the case for the past six months. This shows that the existence of racket with the help of Wakf officials."

The MP said, " Dr Krishna Nimsakhare of Badlapur obtained land from Jama Masjid Trust. He gave crores of rupees to the trust members against the land. Later on, he contacted the state-level Wakf Board office in Aurangabad for the NOC. Here, one reputed lawyer from Osmanabad assured him of getting NoC to him from the board. The lawyer demanded Rs 9 lakh for the work. Due to lockdown, Nimsakhare was unable to go to Osmanabad from Badlapur. Hence, the lawyer told him to send the money (Rs 9 lakh) through RTGS in his account. Later on, the lawyer handed over one NoC to him. Under the Right to Information (RTI), the Wakf Board informed Nimsakhare that the office had not issued any NOC in this regard. The bogus NoC case was surfaced in November 2020, but the board officials are yet to take action in this regard so far. Later on, Nimsakhare lodged an official complaint with Wakf minister Nawab Malik and mentioned the harassment meted out to him by the government machinery."

" Surprisingly, the Osmanabad's lawyer is now ready to return the money to Nimsakhare. However, we are trying to encourage Nimsakhare to lodge a police complaint in this regard," stressed the MP.
