Aurangabad, Jan 12:
Cash and gold ornaments worth at Rs 10 lakh were stolen from a house in Baijipura area. The incident came to light on the night of January 11. Police examination Close Circuit TV Camera footage and detained two persons on the basis of the footage.
According to sources, a resident of Baijipura had a quarrel with his son and daughter-in-law. His whole family went to Beed on January 3.
Thieves entered the locked house and made off with cash of Rs 1.50 lakh and ornaments of 18 tolas, all valued at Rs 10 lakh. When the family returned home from Beed in the night of January 11, they realised about the theft and informed Jinsi Police.
Police inspector Venkatesh Kendre, PSI Dutta Shelke and others rushed the spot.
Police personnel examined CCTV footages and found two persons, including minor stealing gold jewellery and cash. Police detained both the persons who confessed to committing the crime.
The house owner is avoiding to lodge a complaint and left for Beed when he learnt that his son is behind the theft.
Police officers asked the house owner to visit the police station along with his son, to lodge the complaint. The house owner told police that he would come, but, discontinued the call.
Fearing arrest of his son, the house owner left for Beed. Police officers called up the house owner on January 12, who did not take the calls.
