Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Vice-Chancellor of Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University (VNMAU) Dr Indra Mani and Israel’s Consul General (in Mumbai) Yaniv Revach will inaugurate the upgradation work of Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Keshar Mango at Himayat Baugh on Tuesday (May 12).

According to principal scientist Dr Sanjay Patil, the CoE is an ambitious Indo-Israel project which was launched at Fruit Research Station (FRS) in Himayat Baugh way back in 2013-14. Recently, the government has granted an aid of Rs 1.30 crore for upgrading the CoE. Hence the funds were utilised for procuring state-of-the-art machinery, encouraging automated fertiliser and irrigation management systems, and the installation of modern equipment at the CoE.

MASHAV (an International Development Cooperation) project officer at Embassy of Israel (New Delhi) Brihma Dev and mango-growing farmers from the region will be attending the event.
