Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A collective Agnihotra programme was organised at Kranti Chowk on Saturday.
The Agnihotra ritual propagated by Param Sadguru Shri Gajanan Maharaj is now being practiced in nearly 70 to 80 countries worldwide.
Currently, Dr Purushottam Rajimamale, a spiritual guide from his tradition, is spreading awareness and guidance about Agnihotra globally.
What is Agnihotra?
Agnihotra is a very simple, easy, and universally accessible Vedic ritual performed daily at local sunrise and sunset timings. The ritual requires a copper pyramid vessel, dried cow dung cakes, cow’s ghee, and two pinches of rice. A few drops of ghee are applied to the rice, and two offerings are made into the sacred fire while chanting two specific mantras.
It was explained during the event that Agnihotra helps in creating mental peace, environmental purification, agricultural improvement, and positive energy. Agnihotra has no restrictions related to caste, religion, sect, nationality, or region, and anyone can practice it. Participants were informed that Agnihotra offers both scientific and spiritual benefits. Research on Agnihotra is currently being conducted in Germany, where the concept of ‘Homa Farming’ is becoming increasingly popular.
The gathering concluded with an appeal that Agnihotra is beneficial for the welfare of all humanity and that everyone should adopt this ritual in their daily life. S P Jawalkar, Govind Apte, Ujjawala Joshi and Rohit Biyani were among those who participated in the programme.
