Youth drowns in Godavari River at June Kaygaon

A 23-year-old youth drowned in the Godavari river at June Kaygaon on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Shankar Dawane (23), a resident of Mhasoba Colony, Sillod tehsil, currently residing at Kolhati Vadgaon, Gangapur tehsil.

Around 2 pm on Sunday, locals spotted a body in the Godavari riverbed and immediately informed Gangapur Police, who rushed to the spot. With the help of locals, the body was retrieved from the river and shifted to the Sub-District Hospital, Gangapur, where medical oifficer Dr Harshal Dhabe conducted the post-mortem before handing over the body to the family. An accidental death report has been registered at the Gangapur police station.
