Woman killed after speeding car crashes into stationary container

A woman was killed on the spot after a speeding car carrying a couple from Pune to Madhya Pradesh rammed into a stationary container from behind near Joshi Phata at Kaigaon on Sunday afternoon. The tragic accident occurred around 2.30 pm.

The deceased was identified as Rimjhim Jain (40, Pune). Originally from Madhya Pradesh, the Jain couple had settled in Pune and were travelling to their native place in car number (MH-12-VV-1867) on Sunday. Near Joshi Phata on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Pune National Highway, a container transporting iron rods from Jalna to Pune was parked on the roadside when the speeding car crashed into it from behind with great force. Rimjhim Jain died on the spot in the accident. A case has been registered at the Gangapur police station.
