Collector orders speeding up measures in vicinity of Ghrishneshwar Temple

In view of the upcoming Kumbh Mela, various development works are planned in the vicinity of the Ghrishneshwar Temple (in Ellora). District Collector Deelip Swami on Wednesday directed all concerned departments to jointly implement measures related to the development works to be undertaken by their respective departments.

A meeting regarding the implementation of the development plan for the Ghrishneshwar Temple area was held at the district collector’s office. The superintendent of police Dr Vinaykumar Rathod, sub-divisional police officer Aparajita Agnihotri, deputy collector Sangeeta Rathod, superintending archaeologist of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI, Aurangabad Circle) Dr Shiv Kumar Bhagat, and police inspector D R Farate were present on the occasion.

The planned development works will be initiated according to the proposed plan before the commencement of the main bathing events during the Kumbh Mela. As part of the preparations, the district collector instructed all concerned departments to begin implementing the required measures.

He also ordered that the grampanchayat should take steps to remove encroachments in the temple surroundings to facilitate the development works.
