Aurangabad, June 16:

A complainant attempted suicide demanding to get his money back in a cheating case by consuming poison at Satara police station on Wednesday afternoon. The head constable showing alert snatched the bottle of poison from his hand. The complainant has been identified as Shaikh Zuber Shaikh Aziz. He was later admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Zuber runs a business of vehicle sale and purchase. A few months back, he purchased a Jeep through a mediator from Nashik. He paid the amount to the amount to the owner but the Jeep was not transferred in his name due to some reasons. When realized that he was cheated, he lodged a complaint at the Satara police station. He used to frequently visit the police station and used to demand to get his money back from the cheaters. On Wednesday, he came to the police station and took a bottle of poison from his pocket and threatened the police that he is committing suicide as he is debt ridden. He tried to drink the poison but the head constable Subhash Mankar and others showed alertness and dragged the bottle from his hand. The poison fell all over the floor. PI Surendra Malale and others immediately rushed him to the GMCH. A case of attempt to suicide has been registered against Zuber.
