Congress takes out morcha for welfare of farmers

Congress party organised a march (morcha) on Monday afternoon from the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Shahganj to the District Collector's office, demanding the fulfilment of promises made during the election and acceptance of the demands of farmers and the common people. Later, a delegation presented a memorandum of demands to the District Collector on this occasion.
The demands made by the Congress delegation included the immediate announcement of farmer loan waivers, implementation of measures to address water scarcity in drought-affected areas, proper compensation for farmers who have suffered losses due to natural disasters, immediate benefits of crop insurance, urgent implementation of the "Solar Agricultural Pump for All" scheme, grant fair minimum support prices (MSP) to the farmers, immediate implementation of various agricultural subsidy schemes, including drip irrigation, regular electricity supply in rural areas, supply of electricity to farmers during the day instead of night and waiver of arrears, an MSP of Rs. 40 per litre for milk, timely subsidies for milk producers, subsidy on animal feed, implementation of the 'Ladki Bahin' scheme for women without any conditions and regular monthly assistance of Rs. 2,100.
Former minister Anil Patel, Namdeorao Pawar, Ravindra Kale, Vilasbapu Autade, Kiran Patil Dongaonkar, Jagannath Kale, Bhausaheb Jagtap, Rahul Sawant, Prof. Mohan Deshmukh, Jitendra Dehade, Raosaheb Nade, and tehsil president Bhaskar Ghaywat, along with many other workers, participated in the farmers' morcha.
