Cyber police tighten vigilance on social media misuse

Amid heightened sensitivities over the Aurangzeb tomb controversy, the city's Cyber Police Station has intensified its surveillance of social media platforms to curb inflammatory content. As part of their 24/7 monitoring, authorities, under the supervision of PI Shivcharan Pandhare, have taken legal action against individuals posting objectionable material.
In a recent case, an Instagram user, Mohsin alias Monty from Padgaon, was booked for sharing a provocative video intended to incite communal discord. Similarly, Sagar Gaikwad from Misarwadi faced legal action for posting weapon-related content to instill fear. So far, the cyber police station has registered 10 cases, with 506 posts reported and removed. Citizens are strongly advised against engaging with divisive content, as violators will face strict legal consequences. Following this, a case was registered against the accused at the cyber police station and later transferred to the Cantonment Police for further action.
