Aurangabad, March 7:

Deceased Rothit's relatives took possession of his body after 24 hours, when the administrative head of Wockhardt Reserch Centre, Manisha Brahma, assured at the Cidco police station that his family members will be given the compensation.

Rohit Narwade worked as a volunteer at the Wockhardt Research Centre. On Tuesday, a test of a mecine was conducted on Rohit, due to which his condition deteriorated. He was admitted to the Dhoot Hospital where he died on Saturday at around 4 pm.

Meanwhile, Rohit’s relatives demanded that a case should be registered against the company, and they will not take the body of Rohit unless the case is registered. The body was lying at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) from Saturday for post mortem. His relatives gathered at the GMCH and refused to take custody of the body. The police tried to console them but they did not listen. They demanded that a case should be registered against the responsible officers.

As they were not ready to listen, MIDC police station PI, Vitthal Pote, called the head of the Centre Manisha Brahma to the police station. She assured the relatives before the police that the company will pay the compensation to Rohit’s family members as per the Indian Drug Control Authority guidelines.

PI, Vitthal Pote, said a test was conducted on Rohit at Wockhardt Research Centre on Tuesday. He was admitted to the hospital, where he died on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, the administrative head of the Centre, Manisha Brahma came to the police station and assured the relatives to give the compensation and later the relatives took the custody of the body of Rohit, he said.
