Panic spread in Vitava, Waluj Mahanagar after a highly decomposed body of an unidentified man, aged around 40 to 45, was found under a lemon tree in the Lawki Vasti area on Monday.

MIDC Waluj police have launched an investigation to determine whether it is a case of suicide or murder. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information about a body lying in an abandoned field between Jogeshwari and Lawki Vasti. The body was shifted to GMCH after panchnama. Due to advanced decomposition, identification of the deceased remains a challenge. An accidental death report has been registered, and the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report, police said.
