Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The tourism stakeholders who were on familiarisation (FAM) tour to the district assured of putting in their efforts to promote the tourism capital of Maharashtra and expected the same enthusiastic effort from the administration concerned to achieve the target. They stressed on the need of having audio-guides, light and sound facilities at the monuments to enhance the tourist footfalls.

They also pointed out the need of providing drinking water facilities at the monuments, apart from clean lavatories.

After winding up their day’s tour the FAM tour members shared their views during the interaction at a five-star hotel on Monday evening. The officials of the state Department of Tourism (DoT), hoteliers and other stakeholders including deputy director Vijay Jadhav, assistant district tourist officer Azimoddin Shaikh, president of AH&RA Harpreet Singh, secretary Sunil Chaudhary and representatives of different hotels were present on the occasion.

Suggestions by members

– Adequate tourist guides at Ellora and Devgiri Fort; Audio guide facilities for tourists; free wheelchair facility for ageing or elderly tourists; aggressive marketing of the district in Mumbai and Delhi cities; clean and hygienic lavatories and drinking water at tourist places; facility of canteens serving cold drinks at Ellora and Fort during summer season; maintain cleanliness; develop monuments through adoption scheme, etc.
