Demand to start RTE admission process on school level

Aurangabad, May 13:

RTE Parents Association demanded that the admission process on 25 per cent of reserved seats under the Right To Education (RTE) Act should be started on the school level for the academic year 2021-22.

It may be noted that the draw of lots was picked on April 15 for admissions on 25 reserved seats in private schools for students belonging to economically and socially backward class.

During the last year, the students were admitted on the basis of documents recruitment because of COVID situation.

In a memorandum submitted to the chief minister, the association president Prashant Sathe stated that there is a need to scrutinise 1000 students documents in the district. “It will take around five to ten minutes to complete document verification of one student. It will not be easy to maintain social distance during the scrutiny of documents. Like last year, the documents should be verified on the school level only. An average of 20 students documents need to be verified, and all pandemic measures would be followed,” he added.
