Aurangabad, Sept 26:
The downpour received on Friday night had forced the residents of Bhausinghpura and Kanchanwadi areas to pass the night without sleeping. The circle wise rainfall recorded in Kanchanwadi was 135.75 mm, Bhausinghpura was 118 mm, and Osmanpura was
66.50 mm. Besides, the residents staying on the banks of Kham River also passed the whole night by remaining alert due to a storm in the river.

The rain started at 9 pm on Friday. After drizzling, the speed of rain lashes increased after 10 pm, and the downpour lasted till 11 pm.
The rainwater entered in Bhausinghpura, Kanchanwadi and Osmanpura areas.
The residents staying in localities like Begumpura, Ghati, Nakshatrawadi, Railway Station, Hamalwada, Kokanwadi, Padampura, Satara-Deolai etc. also bore the brunt of rainfall.
The citizens rushed to see the Kham River flowing with milky water. Some dared to swim in the stormy river as well.

The Chikalthana Weather Bureau recorded 18.2 mm rainfall, while the MGM Weather Bureau recorded 30.7 mm rainfall. Surprisingly, when there was heavy rainfall in Bhausinghpura and Kanchanwadi vicinity, the areas like Cidco, Hudco, Chikalthana and Garkheda had low rainfall.

According to a weather expert Shrinivas Aundhkar, " The recording of 100 mm rainfall in one hour is called as cloud bursting, and if maximum rainfall lashes the city in three hours, then it is called a downpour."
