Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A Hyva truck fell into a valley after breaking through safety barriers in Ajanta Ghat on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Jalgaon highway on Thursday afternoon.

Police said the truck was travelling from Fardapur to Sillod around 1 pm when driver Ankush Narayan Shinde (32) of Jambhai allegedly lost control at a sharp turn, causing the vehicle to plunge down the hillside. Police personnel Akash Gavale and Kedar Pawar from Fardapur police station rescued the driver, who suffered minor injuries. Police said the driver was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and a case has been registered against him.
