A drunken truck driver created panic in Pandharpur on Sunday morning after losing control of his speeding vehicle. No casualties were reported, but roadside tea, snack, and pani puri stalls were badly damaged, and the gram panchayat water pipeline was broken.

Around 7 am, truck (MH-14-LL-6778), travelling from Pandharpur towards Ahilyanagar, rammed into a road divider, broke through it, and crashed into roadside stalls before stopping on a nearby shop’s steps. Residents rushed out after hearing the loud crash, while some present near the stalls narrowly escaped injury. Goods in the stalls were destroyed, and the damaged pipeline disrupted water supply. Locals pulled the driver out and found him heavily intoxicated, triggering anger and demands for strict action. Traffic was briefly disrupted before residents helped clear the truck and restore normal movement.
