Maharashtra’s Social Justice Minister and district Guardian Minister Sanjay Shirsat visited Maratha reservation leader Manoj Jarange Patil, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city, on Saturday afternoon. During the visit, he inquired about Jarange’s health. Jarange drew Shirsat’s attention to various pending demands of the Maratha community. Minister Shirsat later informed reporters that efforts would be made to hold a meeting in Mumbai soon to address these issues.

Guardian Minister Shirsat stated that Jarange pointed out the inactivity of the Shinde Committee and raised concerns about the three gazette notifications issued by the state government regarding kinship, which have not yet been converted into law. He also highlighted that SEBC students are not receiving scholarships. Shirsat assured that he would explore the possibility of convening another meeting in Mumbai on Monday to discuss these matters further. Regarding the issue of crimes against women, he mentioned that both the ruling and opposition parties had been aggressive in the legislature and that the government is actively working towards bringing the Shakti Act soon. On the Anvi incident involving Kailas Borade, Shirsat stated that after watching the temple video, it was evident that Borade was intoxicated. However, the act of burning him was highly condemnable and horrific. When asked about Congress's 'Sadbhavana Yatra,' Shirsat remarked that Congress always wakes up after everything has already happened. Regarding the Massajog case, he assured that the government is taking the matter seriously and taking appropriate action.
