Aurangabad, July 17:

The power supply to 7,000 power consumers in the Harsul area was cut off around 7.30 pm on Saturday. The power supply was not restored till 9.30 pm. Power supply to several customers in this area was cut off from noon. The disruption of power supply caused great distress to the citizens.

The sub-center at Harsul broke down in the afternoon. So four feeders shut down. Two of these feeders started immediately, but the Delhi gate feeder and Bhagatsinghnagar feeder started at 7 pm, but the power supply was again disrupted as the power supply again broke down. As a result, power supply to 7,000 residences and commercial establishments in the area including Harsul, Harsul village, Jatwada road, Radhaswami Colony, Bhagatsinghnagar was disrupted. The power supply in these areas was not restored even at 9.30 pm. So the citizens expressed anger. Ashutosh Shirole, additional executive engineer, MSEDCL, Shahganj sub-division, said that the power went out in the afternoon due to a major breakdown in the substation. It took time for the two feeders to start, but it broke down again. The power supply in the Harsul area was cut off. He said that maintenance is being done.
