Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught an ex-employee of Zilla Parishad (ZP) while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from two persons on Wednesday.
He demanded the amount from two people to get the registration certificate (license) required for a government contract from the construction department of the ZP.
The ACB caught a retired junior assistant of the ZP red-handed while accepting the demanded bribe. The name of the retired employee who was arrested is Nandkishore Asaram Chavan (61, Naukar Yash Housing Society, Police Colony, Padegaon).
According to the details, the accused Nandkishore Chavan is a retired employee from the water supply department of the ZP. He is working in the office even after retirement.
He had demanded Rs 7,000 each from the complainant and his friend to help in getting the license required for the contract government works from the construction department of the ZP.
After a negotiation, a total of Rs 5,000 each was demanded before the Panchas. Since the complainant did not want to pay the money, a complaint was lodged with the ACB.
The ACB team laid a trap and caught him red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 in front of the ZP gate. A case was registered late at night at the Krantichowk police station.

For the second consecutive day, a retired employee working directly in the ZP Nandkishore Chavan was caught red-handed by an ACB team while accepting a bribe. The ACB's action has created a stir in the ZP.
